The Liwa Fatemiyoun, or Fatemiyoun Brigade are an Afghan Shia militia formed in 2014 to fight the Syrian opposition. It is funded and trained by the Iranian IRGC. The Afghan fighters who were recruited are reportedly receiving $500 per month. The group has denied direct Iranian government involvement in its activities.〔 ==History== On 7 May 2015, Iran commemorated 49 fighters of the group who were killed in Syria,〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Sami on Twitter )〕 yet some 700 Shiite Afghans from the economically poor Hazaras minority are thought to have died after being sent to Syria by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Some of these fighters were caught by the Islamic Front and their fate unknown.
